About Johnston Township:
Johnston Township, Ohio is a close-knit rural community located in northeastern Trumbull County, Ohio. Established in the early 1800s and named for Captain James Johnston, the township combines rich local history with a peaceful, country atmosphere. Home to around 1,700 residents, Johnston Township offers a welcoming environment, strong community traditions, and easy access to nearby towns while retaining its small-town charm.

February 2026 - Legal Notice of Public Hearing to be held on February 26, 2026, at 6 PM at the Senior Center located at 5922 Warren Rd. The purpose of this hearing is to consider a proposed amendment to the text of the Johnston Township Resolution.

Township Resident Donates Apple Butter Kettle to Historical Society
Jim Sunbury, a Johnston Township resident, donated this large apple butter kettle and paddles to the Johnston Township Historical Society. It first belonged to his great-great-grandfather and is believed to be over 150 years old. Thank you, Jim!
Johnston Emergency Personnel Recognized with Star of Life Awards
